Hi Xareni here, I know my name is tough so let me clear that up, its pronounced something like “Shaw-ree-knee” and its from a native Mexican language called Otomi, meaning goddess of the sunrise, pretty cool, right. My mom really wanted to give me a creative, original name that came from a tongue of our ancestors and I have been lucky to enjoy such an awesome name. But since it can get a bit complicated, I go by Xa (pronounced “Shaw”) for short. Ok, now that we have gotten that out of the way let me tell you a bit about myself, I’ve always loved creating and making art, but I got to say, telling peoples stories through a lens is what captured me the most. After graduating from art school at MassArt in 2010, I have been freelancing as a cinematographer, camera operator, still photographer, lighting technician, and editor, working in different genre but mostly specializing in documentary style shooting, creating content for the music industry and creating commercial content for social media outlets in both Los Angeles and Mexico City, but will always travel anywhere if needed. Browse a bit through this website and if you like what you see and are interested in collaborating with me shoot me an email, I would love to hear your story.
Para los que hablan español no creo que haya necesidad de explicar la pronunciación de mi nombre. Así que, hola, soy Xareni y me encanta contar historias de la gente a través de mi lente.
